Professional background and qualifications
For over thirty years I have practiced in various mental health settings including the NHS, Social Services and in the private sector. For seven years I have been involved with a progressive therapeutic community, before I established my private practice in 1986 – working with individuals, couples, groups and staff teams. This includes working with members of the helping professions, education, the creative industries and business. I work in English and German.
In 1983 I qualified in integrative psychotherapy and counselling at the Minster Centre, followed by a course at the Association for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the NHS. I was awarded an MA in Psychoanalytic Studies at the Tavistock Clinic and East London University. I am a Training Group Analyst and a member of the Institute of Group Analysis where I also qualified as a BAPPS accredited supervisor.
I provide teaching and supervision to psychotherapists, counsellors, medical practitioners as well as to psychologists, mental health workers and other staff teams. In my work with the public and private sector I offer individual and group consultations. I have a particular interest in all aspects of creativity, in communities and in cultural diversity. These interests also influence my therapeutic work.
